amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic. A pioneer in the area of HIV/AIDS research, amfAR plays a catalytic role in accelerating the pace of research and achieving real breakthroughs. amfAR-funded research has helped lay the groundwork for major advances in the study and treatment of HIV/AIDS. amfAR has been the leader in HIV/AIDS research, education and prevention since the 1980s when HIV/AIDS was highly stigmatized. Aileen is grateful to have been involved with their life-saving work since the beginning and currently serves on the Board of Trustees.
