The Jane Goodall Institute

Dr. Jane Goodall has devoted her life to the protection of the natural world. Through nearly 60 years of groundbreaking work, Dr. Goodall has not only shown us the urgent need to protect chimpanzees from extinction, she has also redefined species conservation to include the needs of local people and the environment. While Dr. Goodall started her work at Gombe National Park in what is now Tanzania, today the Jane Goodall Institute touches people and animals around the globe. Her message is loud and clear: each of us has a responsibility to take action on behalf of all living things and the planet that we share.

The Future of the planet and humanity is in our hands.”
